For nearly 100 years, the University of Baltimore has served its students and the surrounding counties of its Baltimore City campus in a number of ways, from providing quality higher education with flexible class schedules to creating programs that bring benefit to the lives of local residents.

At UB, we work hard to improve people’s lives, and these efforts do not end at the classroom door or confine themselves to a few-block radius. We engage ourselves in the issues challenging the city we live and work in. We bring our faculty’s expertise and our students’ energy, ideas and passion to the greater Baltimore community. This is what makes UB distinctive.

To ensure our students’ success, the University must meet them where they are in their lives. “These are individuals who want to make a difference,” says UB Provost Darlene Smith. “We want to make sure they hit the ground running.” The result is a robust community that is receiving national recognition for both its earning power and its social mobility. UB people, Smith says, “can go anywhere and do anything.”
