Check it out&#8230;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_268\" style=\"width: 330px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/casblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/381\/2017\/06\/PSYCH_3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-268\" class=\"wp-image-268 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/casblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/381\/2017\/06\/PSYCH_3.jpg\" width=\"320\" height=\"240\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-268\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Sam Singh, B.A. \u201917, at the 29th APS Annual Convention<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Last week, recent psychology graduate <strong>Santokh (Sam) Singh<\/strong>, B.A. \u201917, attended the 29<sup>th<\/sup> Association for Psychological Science (APS) Annual Convention, held in Boston, MA, presenting his senior thesis work, \u201cNarcissistic Behaviors and Social Media Usage.&#8221;\u00a0Sam also presented this same poster and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ubalt.edu\/news\/news-releases.cfm?id=2795\" target=\"_blank\">won\u00a0the research prize at this year\u2019s Inspired Discoveries<\/a>, an annual UB symposium focused on undergraduate research and other academic achievements. Psychology students represented\u00a0almost half of the presentations at this year&#8217;s symposium.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_277\" style=\"width: 809px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/casblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/381\/2017\/06\/Inspired_Discoveries.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-277\" class=\"wp-image-277 size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/casblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/381\/2017\/06\/Inspired_Discoveries.png\" width=\"799\" height=\"521\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-277\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">psychology students at the 2017 Inspired Discoveries<\/p><\/div>\n<p>In March, Sam and fellow UB graduates <strong>Charles Thornton<\/strong>, B.A. \u201916 (now a student in the Industrial and Organizational\u00a0Psychology graduate program), <strong>Jennifer Kelly<\/strong>, B.S. \u201916 (psychology minor) and <strong>Taylor Young<\/strong>, B.A. \u201917 (psychology major), presented their research poster, \u201cFree to Say No: Evoking Freedom Increased Compliance in Two Field Experiments,&#8221; at the Annual Meeting of the Eastern Psychological Association (EPA), also held in Boston. Their poster was titled &#8220;The Effect of a Career Workshop on Attitudes Toward Career Counseling.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/casblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/381\/2017\/06\/Sharon_Glazer_cropped.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-272 alignright\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/casblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/381\/2017\/06\/Sharon_Glazer_cropped.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"197\" height=\"202\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Division of Applied Behavioral Sciences Chair and Professor <strong>Sharon Glazer<\/strong> had the monograph that she co-authored with Catherine T. Kwantes\u2014<em>Culture, Organizations, and Work; Clarifying Concepts\u2014<\/em>published by Springer, a leading global scientific, technical and medical publisher.
