Prof. Steven Leyva<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The 2016 \u201cMyth\u201d issue of <em>Little Patuxent Review<\/em>\u2014which is edited by Klein Family School of Communications Design Assistant Professor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ubalt.edu\/cas\/faculty\/alphabetical-directory\/steven-levya.cfm\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Steven Leyva<\/strong><\/a>\u2014has been listed as a \u201cNotable Special Issue of 2016\u201d in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Best-American-Essays-2017-%C2%AE\/dp\/0544817338#reader_0544817338\" target=\"_blank\"><em>The Best American Essays 2017<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>On Oct. 15, Prof. Leyva gave the keynote address at The Inaugural Ron Kuka Prize for Urban Short Fiction. The contest\u2014named in honor of fiction writer Ron Kuka\u2014encourages Baltimore&#8217;s young\u00a0writers to continue creating throughout their lives.
