{"id":36,"date":"2015-11-16T20:52:55","date_gmt":"2015-11-16T20:52:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/casblog\/?p=36"},"modified":"2015-11-16T21:37:23","modified_gmt":"2015-11-16T21:37:23","slug":"ub-ethics-bowl-team-qualifies-for-national-ethics-bowl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/casblog\/2015\/11\/16\/ub-ethics-bowl-team-qualifies-for-national-ethics-bowl\/","title":{"rendered":"UB Ethics Bowl team qualifies for National Ethics Bowl"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Congratulations to the University of Baltimore\u2019s <strong>Ethics Bowl<\/strong> team for qualifying for the National Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl after finishing in the top five at the Southeast Regional Ethics Bowl last weekend in St. Petersburg, FL. &#8220;This is the first time a UB team has qualified,&#8221; said\u00a0<strong>Fred Guy<\/strong>, director of UB&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ubalt.edu\/about-ub\/offices-and-services\/provost\/reporting-units\/hcpe\/\" target=\"_blank\">Hoffberger Center for Professional Ethics<\/a> and the team&#8217;s faculty coach. &#8220;We beat out such schools as Wake Forest, University of Florida, Auburn University, University of Miami, and 15 other larger universities.&#8221; The team will go on to compete at the <a href=\"http:\/\/appe.indiana.edu\/ethics-bowl\/ethics-bowl\/\" target=\"_blank\">Twentieth Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl<\/a>\u00a0on February 21, which is part of the\u00a02016 Association for Practical and Professional Ethics 25th Annual Conference in Reston, VA (just outside of Washington, DC).<\/p>\n<p>The Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl is\u00a0an undergraduate team competition that combines the excitement and fun of a competitive tournament with an innovative approach to education in practical and professional ethics. This newly-launched competition is open to all two-year colleges.
