This conference\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">has become a key space for those invested in the future of learning, bringing together educators, researchers, and industry leaders to explore the evolving intersections of technology, pedagogy, and student success.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">As I roam the Austin Convention Center, I\u2019m also gearing up for something new: leading my own discussion.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Tomorrow,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/schedule.sxswedu.com\/2025\/events\/PP1147566\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">I\u2019ll be serving as a Roundtable Mentor to discuss integrating generative AI into the classroom<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">.\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This session isn\u2019t your typical panel or lecture; it\u2019s a space for hands-on dialogue where educators will rotate between discussion tables, exploring AI\u2019s role in learning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Of course, my week isn\u2019t just about my own session. SXSW EDU is always packed with thought-provoking conversations, and\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/schedule.sxswedu.com\/favorite\/user\/360587dc75f0a3b0ad8a0fba75169628a0b38626\/89e10b6e1e\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">I\u2019ve got my eye on a some sessions<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0that align with the work we\u2019re doing at UBalt and CELTT, including:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"1\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/schedule.sxswedu.com\/events\/PP1147782\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Keynote \u2013 Rewiring How We Learn: The Power of an Experimental Mindset<\/span><br \/>\n<\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Anne-Laure Le\u00a0Cunff\u00a0and Vanessa Van Edwards will break down the neuroscience behind curiosity and learning, sharing ways we can embrace an experimental approach in education. As we integrate new tools and teaching methods, I\u2019m eager to hear how we can help students and faculty navigate change with confidence.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"2\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/schedule.sxswedu.com\/2025\/events\/PP151747\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">AI &amp; Edu: Sharing Real Classroom Successes &amp; Challenges<\/span><br \/>\n<\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This session, led by Zhuo Chen\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Dylan Ruediger from Ithaka<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, is especially relevant to UBalt since we\u2019re part of Ithaka\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Making AI Generative in Higher Education<\/span><\/i><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0cohort. I\u2019m looking forward to hearing how other institutions are implementing AI in the classroom\u2014what\u2019s been successful, what still needs work, and how we can bring these insights back to our own faculty and students.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"2\"><a href=\"https:\/\/schedule.sxswedu.com\/2025\/events\/PP151260\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Neighborhood Change &amp; Campus-Community Partnership Changes<\/span><br \/>\n<\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This session, led by\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Suchitra Gururaj<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, will explore how universities engage with their surrounding communities\u2014especially in the face of corporate development and gentrification.
