At UBalt, it\u2019s no different. Faculty here go far beyond delivering course content. They mentor, innovate, support, and adapt in ways that deeply shape students\u2019 academic and personal success. As the semester winds down, this week offers a meaningful opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the many ways teaching excellence shows up at UBalt.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">One important example is the work of our inaugural\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Teaching Scholars in Residence (TSiR)<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0cohort. Over the past year and a half,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/celtt\/2024\/03\/05\/meet-the-tsirs-liz-keyes-megan-rhee\/\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Megan Rhee, Liz Keyes<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/celtt\/2024\/04\/01\/meet-the-tsirs-sunny-sanwar-and-shelly-clay-robison\/\"><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Sunny Sanwar, and Shelly Clay-Robison<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0have explored timely and essential questions about how students learn. Their research highlights how the scholarship of teaching and learning can lead to meaningful improvements in course design and student engagement. They&#8217;ve not only deepened their own teaching practices, but\u00a0they\u2019ve also contributed knowledge that benefits the entire UBalt community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We\u2019ll also be announcing the recipients of this year\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Student-Nominated Teaching Awards<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0which recognize faculty who go above and beyond to support student learning. Categories include Student Support, Inclusive and Supportive Learning Environments, Teaching Innovation, and the overall Student Choice Excellence in Teaching Award. These awards are especially meaningful because they come directly from the voices of our students, those most impacted by the work our faculty do every day.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">We invite you to <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/celtt\/events\/thank-a-teacher-celebration-2\/\">join us this\u00a0<\/a><\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Friday at the Thank A Teacher Celebration<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0<\/span><span data-contrast=\"auto\">as we honor the\u00a0TSiRs, announce this year\u2019s award winners, and reflect on a year of thoughtful, inspired, and impactful teaching.
