framework or lens designed to consider and promote individuals\u2019 psychological well-being.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>H<\/strong>ealing, not punishment, is essential to Therapeutic Jurisprudence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>E<\/strong>valuating and understanding that every legal decision creates consequences for the individuals involved in a legal proceeding is critical to TJ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>R<\/strong>ecognizing that the legal decision implemented may not always promote the clients\u2019 psychological well-being is a critical consideration in the judicial process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A<\/strong>pplying a sincere ethic of care when addressing the needs of each client, and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>P<\/strong>romoting true listening and diligent attempts to understand each client help clients feel at ease.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>E<\/strong>ncouraging all legal professionals to provide a quality ethic of care makes the justice system more therapeutic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>U<\/strong>nknowingly, unfairness can be created by failing to truly understand clients, which then fosters a negative impression of the legal system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>T<\/strong>rying to learn about the ecology of human development and how trauma manifests, while<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I<\/strong>dentifying what the legal system does not provide to people, and how lawyers can assist them despite this, means more people can receive quality legal representation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>C<\/strong>ompassion and TJ can provide a holistic approach when addressing legal issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\n\n\n<p> <strong>J<\/strong>ustice cannot be truly served if it merely acts as a band aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>U<\/strong>nderstanding that everyone has a story and the right to tell it helps ensure that people are heard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>R<\/strong>estorative practices provide a space for people to find their voices to tell their stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>I<\/strong>ndividualized treatment plans, such as those in drug treatment courts, address the cause of many complex problems affecting those involved with the justice system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>S<\/strong>ympathy is truly not the same as empathy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>P<\/strong>reventing a person\u2019s further involvement with the court is a goal of problem-solving courts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>R<\/strong>elationship building is vital to the success of the individual both in the court and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>U<\/strong>nder the TJ framework, people have the possibility to experience effective healing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>D<\/strong>ifferent families have different needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>E<\/strong>motions are hard to manage without practice and proper tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>N<\/strong>ever underestimate the power of TJ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>C<\/strong>ourts can be a community source for more than just judgements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>E<\/strong>very<strong> <\/strong>family deserves a chance to
