A Message from Our Director<\/h2>\n

These past 20 years have been a journey full of passion, innovation, and impact in family justice system reform. I am extremely proud of all that CFCC has accomplished, and I am deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to and has supported CFCC\u2019s work.<\/p>\n

Since CFCC\u2019s beginning, we have been deeply involved in family justice system reform, advocating for unified family courts, the application of therapeutic jurisprudence, and the use of an ecological approach in family law matters. We have worked with courts and the legal community nationally and internationally to adopt perspectives and practices that lead to positive outcomes for children and families who come to court.<\/p>\n

Through the CFCC Student Fellows Program, an experiential law school course for J.D. candidates, and the Post-J.D. Certificate in Family Law, CFCC has created life-changing opportunities for students and family law practitioners to broaden their understanding of families\u2019 problems and to see the power of therapeutic jurisprudence and an ecological perspective in action.<\/p>\n

Our Truancy Court Program is an excellent demonstration of CFCC\u2019s and the University of Baltimore\u2019s commitment to community engagement. The program has made, a valuable contribution to Maryland schools and communities, and a national model in data-driven truancy prevention strategies.<\/p>\n
