Emily is a Maryland native, black belt, and amateur rock climber. She is passionate about bridging gaps between disparate fields to produce innovative solutions. She likes building things that help people. Emily graduated from UMBC with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, a minor in Entrepreneurship, and several publications in material science. Prior to working as an engineer in the biorefinery field, she participated in several internships, including those at NASA Goddard and JHU APL, both focused on robotics as well as product design and marketing competition through P&G\u2019s CoverGirl. Emily was a semifinalist in five entrepreneurial competitions, including University of Baltimore\u2019s Blue Bee Competition, UMBC\u2019s Idea Competition, Johns Hopkins\u2019 Business Plan Competition, and the NYC Next Idea Competition. While in college, she also produced several book cover designs for published novels, a low-cost 3D scanner apparatus for 3D printing, and several research projects involving MATLAB, Arduino microprocessors, and LabVIEW. While in law school, Emily serves as the President of UB\u2019s Intellectual Property Law Society, Associate Comment Editor of the University of Baltimore Law Review, and a teaching assistant in several subjects. After graduation, she will work in Wilmington, Delaware at a firm specializing in patent litigation.<\/span><\/p>\n Education<\/strong><\/span>
