Langsdale <\/span>recently welcomed its new integrated digital services librarian. Of course, we were quick to ask a few nosey questions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Link:<\/span><\/i><\/b>What do you consider to be your hometown?<\/span><\/div>\n
Breneman:<\/span><\/b>I grew up in Mount Joy, a small town in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.<\/span><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Link:<\/span><\/i><\/b>What was your first job? <\/span><\/div>\n
Breneman: <\/span><\/b>Bussing tables at a local restaurant.  <\/span>I started when I was a junior in high school.  <\/span>Within a few months, I had the dubious honor of being promoted to short-order cook.<\/span><\/div>\n

Link:<\/span><\/i><\/b>What are your hobbies?<\/span><\/div>\n
Breneman: <\/span><\/b>Predictably, I love reading.  <\/span>I also really enjoy camping, hiking, kayaking\/canoeing and just generally exploring beautiful outdoor spaces.  <\/span>My wife and I have a dream of through-hiking the Appalachian Trail once our kids have grown and moved out of the house.<\/span><\/div>\n

Breneman: <\/span><\/b>The Three Musketeers,<\/span><\/i> by Alexandre Dumas, At the Back of the North Wind,<\/i> George MacDonald, Long Day\u2019s Journey Into Night, <\/i>by Eugene O\u2019Neill, Almost anything by Madeleine L\u2019Engle, also Rodney Stark\u2019s nonfiction.<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Breneman: <\/span><\/b>Movie \u2013 The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, TV show \u2013 Downton Abbey<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Breneman: <\/span><\/b>I have a small, dormant stamp and coin collection.  <\/span>If I were very wealthy, I would collect old cars, especially from the \u201820s, \u201830s, \u201840s.<\/span><\/div>\n

Breneman: <\/span><\/b>Vietnamese rice, when made with bacon.  <\/span>All kinds of quiche.  <\/span>Cookies and cream ice cream.  <\/span>Chocolate cake with caramel icing.  <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Breneman: <\/span><\/b>That it has a bee for a mascot, that it\u2019s in the middle of a vibrant city and that it has such a great team of librarians.<\/span><\/div>\n

Breneman: <\/span><\/b>Hum.  <\/span>I\u2019m not sure yet.  <\/span>I\u2019m excited to explore all that the city has to offer, once the weather gets a bit warmer.  <\/span>(Suggestions for what we must do\/see are welcome!)  <\/span>I\u2019m also thrilled to be back on the east coast, close to Lancaster, D.C., and Philadelphia.<\/span><\/div>\n

Breneman: <\/span><\/b>Definitely tea, especially orange tea or Lady Grey.<\/span><\/div>\n
