In archives and libraries \u201cthe stacks\u201d refers to the many resources held by a repository for students and researchers to use. Librarians, archivists, tutors, and others work hard to preserve and make these resources and collections accessible and to create a welcoming environment for students and researchers. We\u2019re excited to introduce Catherine Znamirowski, a UB student who works in Academic Success in the RLB Library! <\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Catherine Znamirowski<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

I have always had a passion for writing. In 2014, I began working as a writing consultant and student-managed Notre Dame of Maryland University\u2019s writing center for three years. Currently, I work as both a writing fellow and writing consultant at the University of Baltimore. These experiences have helped me develop advanced writing skills, and I\u2019ve discovered a new passion \u2013 teaching writing to undergraduate and graduate students.<\/span><\/p>\n

I have a B.A. in Political Science from Notre Dame of Maryland University, and am currently pursuing an M.A. in Global Affairs and Human Security at the University of Baltimore\u2019s College of Public Affairs. My graduate coursework focuses on Europe\u2019s refugee crisis and international development. As this is my final year in the M.A. program, I am working on my capstone project, which is a comparative case study of select international development think tanks in the United Kingdom.<\/span><\/p>\n

After graduation in May 2020, I am looking to work at an international development think tank based in Washington, D.C. or the United Kingdom. As for long-term goals, I hope to obtain a doctoral degree and teach international relations at the college-level, thus combining my passion for politics and teaching.<\/span><\/p>\n
