Celebrate PRIDE Month this June and all year long as you learn about Baltimore’s LGBTQ+ history and community. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of Baltimore and Central Maryland Records (GLCCB) document the history and work of an active LGBTQ+ community center that is now known as <\/span>The Pride Center of Maryland.<\/b><\/a> The history of the Center dates back to its founding <\/span>as the Gay Community Center of Baltimore (GCCB) in the 1970s<\/span>. Included in the collection are photographs, memorabilia, organizational records, issues of Gay Life Newspapers (now known as <\/span>Baltimore OUTloud<\/b><\/a>), and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Recently added to the collection are nine in-depth video oral history interviews<\/strong><\/a> with individuals who have contributed to the Pride Center and the LGBTQIA community in Baltimore over the years. The interviews were collected by Denise Duarte as part of an LGBT History Project sponsored by GLCCB in honor of the 35th Anniversary of the Center in 2012. The interviewees come from a variety of backgrounds and provide multiple perspectives on the impact that the Center has had on their lives.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
