On Tuesday, February 17, 2009, President Barack Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009<\/strong>. This bill appropriates additional federal funds for job creation and preservation, aid for those most affected by the recession, infrastructure projects (transportation, environmental, etc.), and aid to state and local governments to reduce or eliminate service cuts and\/or tax increases.
