{"id":368,"date":"2017-11-01T14:46:37","date_gmt":"2017-11-01T14:46:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/nhudgins\/?p=368"},"modified":"2017-11-01T14:57:42","modified_gmt":"2017-11-01T14:57:42","slug":"4th-annual-knowledge-at-work-event-brings-3-lehs-alumni-to-campus","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/nhudgins\/2017\/11\/01\/4th-annual-knowledge-at-work-event-brings-3-lehs-alumni-to-campus\/","title":{"rendered":"4th Annual &#8220;Knowledge At Work&#8221; Event Brings LEHS Alumni to Campus"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The annual LEHS\u00a0&#8220;Knowledge At Work&#8221; alumni event took place on October 23, 2017 in Dr. Nix&#8217;s HIST 295 evening class.\u00a0 This year, we had three alumni from the division come back to UB to talk to history program majors about their work experiences since graduation.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Michael Bealefeld (History &#8217;13) talked about his master&#8217;s program experience at UMBC, which was funded by a Madison Foundation Fellowship that he won as a UB student.\u00a0 Since finishing the UMBC program, he became a history teacher at the Cambridge School in Baltimore County.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Lyndsay Bates was our representative from the Legal and Ethical Studies master&#8217;s program here in the Division of Legal, Ethical and Historical Studies (LEST &#8217;13).\u00a0 She is currently earning her doctorate in Public Administration at UB, and she has already presented her research on structural inequality in Baltimore to a professional audience of scholars.<\/p>\n<p>Our third panelist was\u00a0Sgt. Audrey McCoy, who graduated from the UB History program as <a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/nhudgins\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/207\/2017\/11\/Picture1-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-373\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/nhudgins\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/207\/2017\/11\/Picture1-2-300x229.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/nhudgins\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/207\/2017\/11\/Picture1-2-300x229.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/nhudgins\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/207\/2017\/11\/Picture1-2.jpg 952w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Audrey Hayes in 2015.\u00a0 A recipient of the Keith L.
