She dreamt she drove to Las Vegas.<\/div>\n
She wants a charmed life and not even her sleep<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

complies. She hates driving and she hates that town,<\/div>\n
hasn\u2019t been there since behemoths were leveled<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

to build beauty\u2014she wishes that could<\/div>\n
happen to her but living doesn\u2019t work that way.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

She played two-dollar tables, not even enough<\/div>\n
for free drinks, the waitresses didn\u2019t even<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

make eye contact, not even a smile.<\/div>\n
Once a man flashed a hundred under the table.<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

She was shocked and flattered, he was embarrassed.<\/div>\n
Being mistaken for a hooker should never<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

be the high point of anyone\u2019s day. It\u2019s pathetic.<\/div>\n
Even a calloused heart should believe, at least once,<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

that happiness is true and can last unbroken.<\/div>\n
But when the moon assumes its place<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

in the sky and night finally overtakes her,<\/div>\n
what else can she do but flicker<\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

from one ugly drama to the next\u2014<\/div>\n
quite frankly she\u2019s drowning in them.<\/div>\n
