Narwhal Vs. Unicorn<\/h1>\n

I have a fear of being impaled, halberds
\nand sticks thrust against my chest.
\nThere’s a dirty joke in there somewhere.<\/p>\n

Consider the narwhal. Its ten-foot tusk
\nan elongated tooth: its tensile strength
\nsurely enough to pierce my heart<\/p>\n

or otherwise. It could even best
\nthe unicorn, notwithstanding the gallop
\nand mighty horn.\u00a0 In the Arctic Sea,<\/p>\n

the unicorn would flounder and drown.
\nIt cannot swim and favors temperate
\nzones and is also, you know, not real.<\/p>\n

But maybe my unicorn has gills
\nor scuba gear. If it’s mythical,
\nI make the rules. Like fingernail-sized<\/p>\n

dragons or chocolate chupacabra.
\nIs it wrong to want the magic hat
\nto have a wormhole that leads<\/p>\n

to lands of rabbits? Where the rabbits
\ncavort and sing of idyllic reverie
\nand also, I don\u2019t know, eat carrots?<\/p>\n

Is it wrong to see the sideshow
\nat the carnival, to see the baby unicorn
\nwhen I really know it’s just<\/p>\n

a one-horned goat?<\/p>\n
