Tracing the silhouette\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">of my spirit, I can\u2019t deny my heart\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">is often in retreat, that I suffer crab mentality.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">A telescope reveals a horoscope\u2019s shell game.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Born from the womb of suns,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">nebulous neuronets are coded\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">to configure familiar features, a trait\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">that led Hippocrates to tag a tumor <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">cancer<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u2014<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the crabby queen\u2019s jealousy metastasized.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Some horoscopes dub my birth sign <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Moonchild<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">,<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">rather than name the decapod\u2019s dread genus.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">I was born in the month of the crab,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">whose milky stars still nurse imagination.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>Michael Waterson<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is a retired journalist originally from Pittsburgh PA. His career includes stints as a wildland firefighter, San Francisco taxi driver and wine educator. He earned a BA from San Francisco State and an MFA from Mills College.
