{"id":3801,"date":"2023-11-27T20:53:58","date_gmt":"2023-11-28T00:53:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/welter\/?page_id=3801"},"modified":"2023-11-27T20:53:58","modified_gmt":"2023-11-28T00:53:58","slug":"the-soul-has-no-gender","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/welter\/poetry-archive\/the-soul-has-no-gender\/","title":{"rendered":"The Soul Has No Gender"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400\"><b>The Soul Has No Gender<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Ann Christine Tabaka<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">pronouns \u2013 do not a person make \/ the<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">soul has no gender. cells divide &amp; cells\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">combine \u2013 to form a body whole. whatever\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">physicality lives within our structure is not\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the final product. we grow &amp; evolve \/ we\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">move &amp; expand \/ we are never concrete.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the ocean is not he nor she. we come from\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">earth &amp; so we return \/ we are elemental\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">beings. thus, do not judge \u2013 for judgment\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">owns the final hour. emotions rule, appearances\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">fade \/ only time can claim our path. trod\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">carefully my friend. life speaks to us in many\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">colors. pronouns \u2013 do not a person make \/ in\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">the end only one rule holds true \u2013<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">love and be loved<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-4102 size-thumbnail\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ubalt.edu\/welter\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/1188\/2023\/11\/Ann-Christine-Tabaka-2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>Ann Christine Tabaka<\/strong> was nominated for the 2017 Pushcart Prize in Poetry; nominated for the 2023 Dwarf Stars award of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Poetry Association; <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">winner of Spillwords Press 2020 Publication of the Year; <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">selected as a Judge for the Soundwaves Poetry Contest of Northern Ireland 2023<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> Her bio is featured in the \u201cWho\u2019s Who of Emerging Writers 2020\u201d and \u201c2021,\u201d published by <em>Sweetycat Press<\/em>.
