The Quiet Rearrangement<\/strong><\/h1>\r\n

 <\/p>\r\n

Your passing marked a silent shift,<\/span><\/p>\r\n

a rearrangement of the family frame\u2014<\/span><\/p>\r\n

like furniture moved in the dark,<\/span><\/p>\r\n

familiar paths now strange.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

I took a role unasked for.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Nothing but echoes remain.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Your roguish howling,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

stories shared at midnight:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

now just whispers in empty rooms;<\/span><\/p>\r\n

absent notifications.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Each year, a twisted celebration,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

a date that cuts both ways,<\/span><\/p>\r\n

carves into the past, bleeds<\/span><\/p>\r\n

into the present. In your departure,<\/span><\/p>\r\n

I was reborn,<\/span><\/p>\r\n

an eldest sprung from sorrow.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

You taught me to take no shit,<\/span><\/p>\r\n

your hands steady on my shoulders.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Now I walk alone, learning\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

to see without you. Aging\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

into this mantle, the weight\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

of my own reflection changes.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

I grow into the space you fled,\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

but never quite fit.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
