Who would have thought these days would find me,
\n<\/span>hypersensitive, easy to caress, like a toothbrush
\n<\/span>growing fainter by the minute in the vibrating palm
\n<\/span>of its pink, scarred home, but at least I\u2019m learning
\n<\/span>a new dialect for pain, unlike the old one written
\n<\/span>in the dark by a sleep technologist who spent his hours
\n<\/span>conducting mortality\u2019s ruinous snoring in that opera
\n<\/span>of de-saturation, maybe this is why mirrors are kinder
\n<\/span>to me as if they know the purpose of reflection is
\n<\/span>illuminated by the fading, as if the lips are making
\n<\/span>peace with the glass not needing my breath.<\/span><\/p>\n

Edward Michael Supranowicz<\/b> is the grandson of Irish and Lithuanian\/Russian\/Ukrainian immigrants. He grew up on a small farm in Appalachia. He has a grad background in painting and printmaking. Some of his artwork has recently or will soon appear in <\/span>Fish Food<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Streetlight<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Another Chicago Magazine<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>Door Is A Jar<\/span><\/i>, <\/span>The Phoenix<\/span><\/i>, and <\/span>The Harvard Advocate<\/span><\/i>. Edward is also a published poet who has had over 700 poems published and been nominated for the Pushcart Prize multiple times.<\/span><\/p>\n
