Second Shift<\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

The words came different
\n<\/span>in Oregon, where the rain
\n<\/span>rambled in like the riled sky
\n<\/span>of Sunday\u2019s mourning.
\n<\/span>Here, the parking lot is flooding. Seeping
\n<\/span>into the soles of my boots.
\n<\/span>Here I mind the water. Here I mind
\n<\/span>myself. I came
\n<\/span>back bracing for weak water and waiting
\n<\/span>and still it weighs me down.
\n<\/span>Deuteration. A chance for more time. The
\n<\/span>church bells of a church
\n<\/span>that is no longer mine chime
\n<\/span>in the back of my mind.
\n<\/span>It\u2019s alright. I\u2019ve grown immune to it, I\u2019m
\n<\/span>through with it. If not
\n<\/span>for me then
\n<\/span>for the water. Its shining
\n<\/span>solemn pavement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
