Power Up Your Teaching This Fall!
Power Hours are back in the Faculty Commons for another semester of exploring new tools, sharing strategies, and fostering collaboration with UBalt colleagues. Like last school year, these sessions are designed to provide a space where we can come together to learn from each other and explore innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
Themed Power Hours: Tools of the Trade
This semester’s Themed Power Hours will center on “Tools of the Trade.” Each session will spotlight specific tools available to UBalt faculty and staff, offering insights into how they can be leveraged to enhance your teaching practices. We’ll kick off on September 24, 2024, with an interactive “What’s In, What’s Out?” session. Stop by the Faculty Commons or join us online to explore a showcase of various tools—some that you might already be familiar with, others that we’re aiming to integrate more fully into our environment, and some that have recently been updated. You’ll have the chance to vote with stickers, letting us know which tools you still use regularly, which ones you’ve moved away from, and which ones you’d like to learn more about. Your input will guide the focus of future Themed Power Hours.

Partner Power Hours: Faculty-Led Sessions
Partner Power Hours are all about collaboration and peer learning. These sessions will be led by our faculty, who will showcase the tools and strategies that have made a significant impact in their classrooms. In the past, we’ve partnered with the School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA), the RLB Library, and the Denit Honors Program to bring diverse perspectives to these sessions. This semester, we continue this tradition of collaboration, offering you a platform to share what works in your teaching practice and to learn from the experiences of your colleagues.

All sessions will take place on Tuesdays, starting at 1:00 PM EST, both in person at the Faculty Commons and virtually via Zoom (https://ubalt.zoom.us/j/98820965666), unless specified otherwise.
