Creating Equitable Learning Experiences

Upcoming Accessibility Training Sessions

CELTT is offering two essential sessions focused on accessibility:

Guiding Principles of Accessibility

This session introduces the POUR framework (Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust), giving you the tools to create accessible materials for all students.

Accessibility in Canvas

In this session, you’ll learn how to use the Canvas Accessibility Checker and the UDOIT Course Review Tool to make your course materials more accessible. We recommend attending a “Guiding Principles of Accessibility” session first.

These sessions are designed to ensure your Canvas courses are not only user-friendly but also accessible to all students, enhancing their learning experience.

Best Practices in Video Creation

In addition to our accessibility training, CELTT has launched a new resource to help you create high-quality videos for your Canvas courses. Our Best Practices in Video Creation series includes both a video and comprehensive guides to help you improve your video content. Here’s what’s available:

  • Video: Best Practices in Video Creation
This video covers everything from writing your script to audience engagement, recording tools, and presentation tips.
  • Guide: Best Practices in Video Creation (Part 1)
Learn about selecting devices, recording tools, and setting up your recording environment.
  • Guide: Best Practices in Video Creation (Part 2)
Get step-by-step instructions on using Panopto to record and edit your videos.

Stay tuned for additional resources, including how to use Canvas Studio as a video creation platform and tips for creating engaging video callouts.

These resources are designed to give you the confidence and skills to create engaging, accessible content in your Canvas courses. Be sure to take advantage of these opportunities to enhance your teaching practice!
