Upcoming SoTL Opportunities
We’re excited to share some upcoming opportunities that can enhance your scholarship in teaching and learning.
First, Kennesaw State University’s SoTL Summit fosters collaboration among educators passionate about the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL). Attendees will gain insights into the latest SoTL research and practices, aimed at improving teaching effectiveness and student outcomes. This year’s summit will take place virtually on September 19 and 20. While the call for proposals has ended, you can still attend to support UBalt’s From Chalkboards to Chatbots team, who will be presenting on their asynchronous courses on generative AI.
Additionally, Kean University’s Faculty Conference on Teaching will be held on September 27, and it’s still accepting proposals until September 15. Hosted by Kean University’s Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, this conference is an excellent opportunity to present your research on innovative teaching strategies and to learn from colleagues in higher education. Whether you’re presenting or attending, this conference is designed to help educators exchange ideas and explore effective pedagogical practices.
Finally, we want to remind our faculty that applications for the next round of the Teaching Scholars in Residence (TSiR) Program will open this fall. This program, offered through CELTT, provides faculty with mentorship, resources, and support to engage deeply in SoTL research. Participants will be part of a vibrant community focused on improving student learning through evidence-based teaching practices.
These opportunities are perfect for faculty looking to expand their professional dossiers, engage with the broader academic community, and enhance their teaching practice. Take advantage of these experiences to connect with peers and stay at the forefront of educational innovation.
