CELTT is offering two essential sessions focused on accessibility:
Guiding Principles of Accessibility
This session introduces the POUR framework (Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust), giving you the tools to create accessible materials for all students.

Accessibility in Canvas
In this session, you’ll learn how to use the Canvas Accessibility Checker and the UDOIT Course Review Tool to make your course materials more accessible. We recommend attending a “Guiding Principles of Accessibility” session first.

Best Practices in Video Creation
In addition to our accessibility training, CELTT has launched a new resource to help you create high-quality videos for your Canvas courses. Our Best Practices in Video Creation series includes both a video and comprehensive guides to help you improve your video content. Here’s what’s available:

These resources are designed to give you the confidence and skills to create engaging, accessible content in your Canvas courses. Be sure to take advantage of these opportunities to enhance your teaching practice!
Promoting Instructional Excellence
Finally, CELTT is offering the Promoting Instructional Excellence (PIE) Program for faculty from October 15 to December 2 during the Fall 2024 semester. The program includes collaborative course mapping work with CELTT, self-paced module work, and designing activities/assessments. The course maps and assignments will be used in your future courses.
Modules include:
- Overview of PIE
- Course Design: Create a Course Map
- Assessments: Design an Assessment
- Accessibility: Create an accessible document and caption a video
- Student Engagement: Plan for engagement
- Inclusive Teaching: Develop a cultural responsiveness action plan
- Capstone: Choose one module (Authentic Discussions, Remote Reflections, Collaborative Groupwork) to create a course activity.
