The Canvas LMS training sessions for faculty began on Monday, January 23, 2023. If you have not had the opportunity to register for upcoming Spring 2023 training sessions, please review the links below. Morning, afternoon, and evening training options are available. If you cannot make a session, the sessions will be recorded and made available for your review.
During our recent training sessions, faculty participants posed the following questions. Here are the answers to a few:
- Does the Canvas Calendar integrate with Microsoft Outlook? Yes. See How do I subscribe to the Calendar feed using Outlook as an instructor? for more information.
- Are calendars private to the user? Yes. Faculty cannot see items on student’s calendars. How to use the calendar as a student contains some helpful information/tips.
- Are there reminders for calendar items? Reminders are managed through Notification Settings. How do I manage my Canvas notification settings as a student is a helpful resource on this tool.
- Can add/withdraw/drop dates etc. be added and have them display on students’ calendars? Yes, these dates can be added by adding them to the course calendar as events
- How do I change my display name in Canvas? Email celtt@ubalt.edu to request the change.
- How long will I have access to Sakai course content? Sakai course/student content will be available through January 31, 2024.
