CFCC is excited to begin the new semester with ten second- and third-year law students enrolled in the CFCC Student Fellows Program.  This experiential course provides students with an in-depth examination of the policies and theories surrounding family justice system reform and cutting edge issues in family law, including unified family courts, therapeutic jurisprudence, preventive law, the ecology of human development, and problem-solving courts.  In addition to a weekly seminar, students take an active role in research, writing, and involvement in one of CFCC’s projects.

Student Fellows this semester will engage in projects that include direct participation in CFCC’s school-based Truancy Court Program, research and writing about school-related legal issues, research and writing about the criminalization of poverty, and writing chapters for a Bench Book on Addiction and Substance Abuse for Family Courts.  In addition, each week a different Student Fellow will blog about an aspect of the Student Fellows Program.  Their blogs may reflect upon a reading assignment or upon something learned in class, from a field trip, or from working on their projects.  We invite you to read these blogs each week and add your own comments.
