The Cookie Jar
Kat Abdallah
I didn’t keep the cookie jar. I left it in the pile of donations by the TV.
Right after I moved, Baba took the donations to Goodwill. I thought that by the time I went back to visit in October, the piles would still be sitting there, and my heart would’ve softened towards you. We’d sort everything out and be friends again. I would apologize like I always do, and you would receive the apology that you owed me. I thought I’d save the cookie jar from donations and bring it back with me.
Instead, the cookie jar is gone.
