Litha Johnson is a 28-year-old South African multimedia artist currently residing in Cape Town. She explores themes rooted in her Xhosa ancestry, surrealism/philosophy and her observations on society through bright and dynamic color and pattern design compositions through portraiture and collage. While traditional techniques such as painting and drawing provide a solid foundation for her artistic endeavors, she appreciates the dynamic intersection of painting with digital manipulation. This innovative approach provides her with the flexibility to explore abstract and explorative concepts while maintaining resonance with the viewer more fluidly. In 2018, she had the privilege of participating in the Intsingiselo Group Art Exhibition at ArtEC in Gqeberha, an experience that strengthened her resolve to improve her craft. She currently has works on the floor at EMK Links Gallery, Design Quarter Fourways.
