“I want to make beautiful things, even if nobody cares.”

—Saul Bass

Matthew is a graphic designer and illustrator currently enrolled in the University of Baltimore’s MFA in Integrated Design, where he is the Art Director of the Fall 2023 Welter online journal.

In 2020, Matthew graduated from the University of Maryland Global Campus with a BS in Digital Media and Web Technology.

He has been designing since I was 16, when he started making flyers by hand for his high school band, The Special Agents. From there, he created logos, posters, and stickers for clients from other local bands to State Senate hopefuls.

In 2011, He started designing in the healthcare industry and fell in love with package design, which led to finishing his undergrad in 2020 and enrolling at the University in Baltimore in the same year.

In his free time, Matthew is an avid cyclist and record collector. He still plays in local bands (The Shrapnels and Red Valley Nursery) and still designs their flyers, logos, and stickers.
