I’m So Busy by Christine Williams
THREE WORDS
Ghazal Azad Jahan
pyaar / week’s respite, past half-raised sun / sky bids a parting kiss / and her tears caresses my cheeks / i am a priest / amongst a confession / what is love — a fallen asking to be heard / i could never find north star / and an unusual lane passes by / dearest you / by a bridge / arms wide open, almost wings / who’s embracing you? / shared umbrella / you adore rains / sevens of heaven praying / to be known this innately / i do, too / i hold onto my breaths / what’s odds
between us? / you laugh / may my paths lead towards you / each chance, you wait / hands unknown of their doings / where coincidences morphs fate / mohabbat / in grief & glory / your glance, i want upon me / i place a conch / on your ear / you hum a song / our laugh, whisking sun-hour / a sandcastle washes away / you kiss me again / what do waves whisper? / to be loved / enough / that i could scatter / you place a pebble / in my palm / so small, so round / i was a breeze, unheard / a drifting shore / before you / now, i am unafraid / of what i shall become / no moment should pass / either of us alone / halves of a seashell / i give you my heart / gnaw upon / or sing goodnight / at your grace / in your hands, i surrender / ishq / a quiet drive / you, driving & i, taking a window / searching you upon horizons / but, you are here, besides / yet, you appear so far / what becomes of us? / where had we lost ourselves? / don’t say anything / cold sheets / does your ghost recognise? / rains / i don’t ask, ‘want to eat?’ / dinner table & fights / you don’t hum / do we ever truly return home? / i leave alone / i wish, you bring an umbrella / this drift / to survive this unbecoming / i wish you stay / please call me / i miss your voice / a train back hometown / you, on the platform / in your hand, my scarf / the final iteration of love
