Welcome to the RLB (Bogomolny) Library! Come and visit us during Welcome Week to see our services and study spaces. We’ll be hosting several events during the week to help you get a good start on your semester.
1. Jumpstart Your Semester (Monday and Tuesday)
Start your semester the right way by attending a FREE “Jumpstart Your Semester” workshop. Drop in (either online or in-person) and meet with an academic coach to:
- Go over your syllabus and plan out your semester–map out a strategy to stay on top of your work.
- Learn about UBalt’s new learning management system Canvas, a simple and powerful tool for learning, communicating, and managing your workload. We will show you how to navigate Canvas so you start smart. We can also get you started with MyMathLab, MyAccountingLab, and other learning platforms paired with your textbooks.
- Learn about the coaching and resources offered by Academic Success and elsewhere at UBalt.
There are four Jumpstart Your Semester sessions during Welcome Week:

2. Welcome Week Carnival (Tuesday)
Come to the library for games, prizes and refreshments! Learn about the library’s services and study spaces. Meet our friendly library staff!

3. Beats Per Minute: the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop; Baltimore’s (untold) Contributions to the Culture Exhibition
Stop by the exhibition Beats Per Minute: the 50th Anniversary of Hip-Hop; Baltimore’s (untold) Contributions to the Culture on the first floor of the Library. The exhibition is part of the University of Baltimore’s ARTclusive Series demonstrating the influence Baltimore City has had on hip-hop and celebrating this art form’s 50th anniversary. The exhibition was curated and developed by Outreach and Engagement Librarian Angela Koukoui.
