Question a politician’s statement? Librarians to the rescue

Who better than a research librarian to check facts on the campaign trail?

A Washington (state) non-partisan election guide, Living Voters Guide, offers callers the expertise of reference librarians from the Seattle Public Library in fact-checking each comment/post on an election issue.  Although the issues concern Washington state referenda, it highlights the value of research librarians who have experience digging through reports and statistics to clarify the statements made by politicians.  So while Maryland doesn’t have librarians connected with similar online voter guides, you can always check a fact here at UB or your local library!
