Google’s new art project

You might have heard recent news stories concerning Google’s new Art Project. Using Google’s Street View technology, designer Amit Sood teamed up with 17 of the world’s most famous museums, including the MoMA, the Met, the Tate and the Hermitage, to create virtual tours of many of their treasured possessions.

In addition, each museum agreed to allow Google to shoot selected works with a high-resolution camera that enables viewers to study the works at magnifications that far exceed the naked eye.

It’s a wonderful site to explore for art lovers of all types.
