|A recent survey by American Public Media’s Marketplace and the Chronicle of Higher Education shows that employers see internships and other work experiences as important to success; the degree alone does not ensure that the new hire has the requisite skills to succeed in the job. Employers want employees who can be creative thinkers and can articulate a new idea or project in a persuasive way. Writing skills, critical thinking skills, and the ability to creatively solve problems are critical. See the full survey and article in the Chronicle as well as the story on Marketplace.
